Job Description

Job Summary Timothy Hill Academy is a faith based non profit located in Middle Tennessee, outside of the town of Smithville. Part of a larger agency, Timothy Hill Childrens Ranch, our TN campus serves teen boys struggling with family problems whose families are seeking help. The vast majority of our boys are struggling with attachment issues related to adoption and childhood trauma. THA seeks to provide quality trauma informed care, specifically targeting youth struggling with attachment issues and RAD using a care model based around TBRI principles. We are seeking an educational assistant/ tutor who is interested in working in a residential setting, providing tutoring and academic support to the youth. Youth work independently through an accredited online curriculum in a common classroom while our academic staff provide guidance and support, while also trying to supplement the curriculum to enhance the learning experience. The majority of the youth in our care have been diagnosed with ADHD or a related learning challenge. This is a part time position with the primary hours being weekday mornings from 9-1230. Responsibilities Provide academic support by utilizing principles of trauma informed care. Support students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive personalized educational support. Help manage classroom behavior by implementing behavior management strategies and maintaining a safe, respectful environment. Support a positive, faith based learning environment that seeks to foster personal growth and development in all areas of a young person's life. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of special education practices, behavior management techniques, and childhood development principles. Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities or autism is advantageous. Ability to tutor youth, from Middle to High School ages, across a variety of subjects. Applicants must pass a rigorous background check prior to hiring. Pay:
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour
