The Montessori School at StarCreek The Montessori School at StarCreek is seeking a warm, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Toddler Teacher to join our school community. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children and wants to be part of a supportive, collaborative Montessori environment.

Full-Time Benefits 3 weeks of paid vacation Medical benefits offered Dental benefits offered Retirement benefits offered Supportive and collaborative school community Opportunities for professional growth and development About the Position Our Toddler program serves children during an important stage of growth, discovery, and developing independence. The Assistant Toddler Teacher works closely with the Lead Teacher to create a nurturing, peaceful, and engaging classroom where each child feels safe, valued, and encouraged to grow. Responsibilities Assist the Lead Teacher with the daily operation of the Toddler classroom Provide attentive and nurturing care while maintaining a calm, positive classroom environment Support children as they develop independence, language, social-emotional skills, and self-care abilities Assist with toileting/diapering, handwashing, meals, rest time, and other daily routines Help prepare and maintain an organized, attractive, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment Support children during Montessori work periods, transitions, outdoor play, enrichment activities, and other parts of the school day Observe and respond appropriately to the individual needs of each child Model kindness, patience, respect, and appropriate behavior Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization throughout the day Follow school policies, licensing requirements, and health and safety procedures Communicate professionally and respectfully with teachers, administrators, children, and families Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and other members of the TMS team Participate in staff meetings, professional development, school events, and other activities as needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Previous experience working with toddlers or young children preferred Montessori experience is a plus, but not required Genuine love for working with young children Patient, nurturing, dependable, and energetic Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to follow established classroom routines and teacher direction while also taking initiative when needed Professional and positive attitude Must meet all state licensing and background check requirements CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain Ability to meet the physical demands of a toddler classroom, including sitting on the floor, bending, lifting, and actively supervising children indoors and outdoors Who We're Looking For Our ideal candidate understands that working with toddlers is much more than supervising children. We are looking for someone who finds joy in helping young children become confident and independent, understands the importance of consistency and routine, and brings patience, warmth, and positive energy to the classroom each day. Montessori experience is wonderful, but it is not required. We welcome candidates who are eager to learn about the Montessori philosophy and grow as early childhood educators.
