Job Description
About the Opportunity The Teacher Assistant provides support to the lead teachers in the delivery of educational programs and activities. They will assist in creating a positive and nurturing learning environment for students, always ensuring their safety and well-being. The assistant supports the lead teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities. The teacher assistant supports the students under the guidance of the lead. The assistant teacher will support the lead teachers in creating a safe, loving, and stimulating environment for children aged (approximately) 2 to 8 years old. Key Responsibilities Student Care & Support Support children in daily routines including toilet learning, hygiene, emotional support, and general care Assist children during transitions, meals, rest periods, and classroom activities Help foster positive social interactions and encourage independence Provide nurturing support that promotes children's emotional well-being and confidence Assist Lead Teachers in implementing developmentally appropriate learning activities Support activities that promote sensory, cognitive, motor, language, and emotional development Help prepare materials and learning spaces for daily lessons and activities Maintain clean, safe, organized learning environments, including indoor and outdoor spaces (Game Garden, trampoline area, eating areas, etc.) Support classroom organization and daily classroom flow Observe and document student routines and developmental information, including eating, toileting, and rest schedules, using Transparent Classroom Communicate relevant observations to the educational team as needed Actively participate as an engaged member of the educational team where collaboration, communication, reflection, honesty, and professional growth are valued Attend staff meetings and contribute positively to team discussions Maintain strong attention to detail and a consistent work ethic Submit receipts or supporting documentation for reimbursements when applicable Maintain strict confidentiality regarding students, families, and program information Qualifications Required Mandarin Speaker Experience working with young children Flexible, adaptable, and able to pivot easily in a dynamic environment Strong interpersonal and communication skills Warm, collaborative, and dependable Preferred Teaching certification or early childhood education background Experience in Montessori, homeschool, or child-centered learning environments Experience supporting children across a range of developmental stages Commitment & Schedule Work hours are generally: Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Additional time may occasionally be needed for: Classroom preparation Material organization Team communication Other learning pod-related responsibilities The Assistant Teacher's final weekly schedule will be determined collaboratively between the with the Learning Pod Director.
