Job description Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children in a nurturing environment. This role involves supporting the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans, managing classroom activities, and fostering an engaging learning atmosphere for young children. Responsibilities Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans that promote education and overall development. Support classroom management by maintaining a positive and structured environment conducive to learning. Engage with children during activities, providing guidance and encouragement to foster their growth and development. Provide opportunities and support for children to develop self-discipline and regulation skills. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians. Maintain confidentiality of children and family information. Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required. Requirements Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience working with young children is preferred, but we will train the right candidate. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff. Must be able to lift and comfort a young child (up to 40 lbs.) and get up and down from the floor; must be able to carry 25 lbs. Ability to manage classroom dynamics and support children with diverse needs. A genuine passion for early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
