Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team at Childress Junior High School as a Paraprofessional. This full-time position plays a crucial role in supporting students and teachers in the classroom setting. The ideal candidate will assist in the educational and social development of students, fostering a positive learning environment and promoting student engagement and success. Responsibilities Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities. Support students with special needs by providing individualized attention and assistance. Help monitor student behavior and provide guidance to promote a respectful and productive classroom environment. Facilitate small group and one-on-one instruction to reinforce learning concepts. Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and classroom resources. Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior, reporting any concerns to the teacher. Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to develop and adapt educational strategies. Supervise students during non-instructional times, including lunch and recess. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or school administration. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in education or related field preferred. Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents. Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting students' educational and emotional needs. Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively as part of a team. Proficient in basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology. Ability to lift and assist students as needed, including those with physical disabilities. Must pass background checks and meet any state or district requirements for paraprofessional positions.
