Overall Job Description:
We're looking for an enthusiastic, adaptable Assistant Teacher to support our Lead teacher in a Montessori environment. As an Assistant, you will be expected to assist in daily activities & curriculum, and help wherever help is asked for as needs arise in each classroom setting. Candidates must be consistent in their work schedule from 9am to 5:30pm, with an hour break. Your role & responsibilities: Support the Lead Teacher at all times, implementing classroom routines (during work cycle, enabling them to focus on instructional time without interruptions. Assistants work very closely to the Lead Teacher and act as their "right hand") Diapering and toileting, as needed. Maintaining a safe, clean and organized classroom environment. Help place & put away cots before & after nap-time. Willingness to work with any age group as needed in order to be in compliance with ratio requirements Communicating in a positive and professional manner with the Director, Staff Members, Parents, and other visitors.
Qualifications & Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED required. Available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30 pm (with an hour lunch break) Must pass a criminal history/background check Must have reliable transportation to ensure consistent and timely attendance. Minimum of 1 year Experience in childcare required! CPR & First Aid certification preferred Keep up with required training hours & certifications according to TX State childcare licensing regulations!
