SUMMARY OF POSITION, FUNCTION AND DUTIES
This position is for the 2026-2027 school year with a start date of August, 2026. Under direction of the principal, the Elementary Teacher Assistant is assigned to aid the teachers and staff to teach students and to fulfill the mission of honoring the Lord Jesus Christ by providing students an education based upon academic excellence and biblical values. The school administration may assign additional duties or specify other functions needed as may be appropriate for specific teacher assistant post.
ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
PERSONAL
BELIEF & BEHAVIOR
Must be a born-again Christian whose lifestyle and character demonstrate obedience to God and the Holy Scriptures, and express agreement with the doctrinal viewpoints and Christian lifestyle requirements of the school. Must be able to serve as a positive Christian role model to others in the CCS school context, living a life that models the school's code of ethics, as outlined in the Faculty/Staff Handbook. Must be able to accept and support the school's philosophy and statement of faith and doctrine. Must have an understanding of and commitment to CCS's educational objectives and philosophy of education. Must possess sufficient biblical knowledge that enables the individual to integrate Scripture into subjects taught, sports coached, or their other job duties, thus imparting to students and co-workers a biblical worldview position. Must faithfully attend a local church whose fundamental beliefs are in agreement with the statement of faith and doctrine of this school. Must affirm that he/she believes that working and ministering in this Christian school would be pleasing to God, would be consistent with his/her purpose in life, and would be a good stewardship of his/her time, talent, and professional abilities. Must enjoy working with young people.
PROFESSIONAL
Must possess an associate's degree or a minimum of 60 college credit hours. A bachelor's degree is desirable. Be effective in teaching and maintaining appropriate classroom discipline. Experience in school environment preferred.
INDIVIDUAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Must have excellent knowledge of staff position duties and be effective in duties as assigned. Superior interpersonal relationship skills Possess physical stamina required to fulfill the professional obligations of the job and their specific staff assignment Proficiency in computer and technology applications necessary for the job position Possess strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to properly use the English language Strong work ethic and self-motivated Effective multi-tasking and time management skills Flexibility and adaptability to schedule and other changes Excellent judgment and discretion This position requires the staff member to provide spiritual leadership and support to those under their influence and leadership. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, being available to pray with employees, incorporating biblical principles into weekly staff meetings, advancing the mission and vision of the school within the department's culture, and providing appropriate spiritual discipleship and care to employees, students, and families. Each staff member must live a life that models the school's code of ethics as outlined in the Faculty/Staff Handbook.
