In this role, you will work closely with lead teachers to support classroom activities, foster a positive learning environment, and assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse needs. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help create an engaging atmosphere where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Duties Support lead teachers in delivering curriculum aligned with developmental milestones, including literacy, math, and social skills. Assist in implementing IEP goals for students with disabilities, including those with autism and developmental delays. Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, emotional, and physical development. Use effective classroom management techniques to maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment. Incorporate American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication strategies to support diverse learners. Help supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and transitions. Contribute to lesson planning and curriculum development tailored to individual student needs. Maintain clear communication with teachers, parents, and specialists regarding student progress and behavior management strategies. Requirements Prior experience working with children in early childhood education settings or classrooms is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management techniques. Familiarity with special education practices, including IEP implementation and behavior management strategies. Experience working with individuals with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder and developmental disabilities. Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is encouraged. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, children, and families. Ability to adapt lesson plans for diverse learners and implement curriculum development strategies. Previous experience in private school or Montessori environments is advantageous. Passion for working with children of all abilities and commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
