Job Description
Description Role Mission:
IDEA Flex Bilingual/ESL Paraprofessional (Title III) will assist campus in supporting the academic and linguistic needs of emergent bilingual/ESL newcomer students. Under general supervision, provides instruction and tutors individual and small groups of students, within the English Language Development (ELD) program, in various subject-matter areas to reinforce classroom lessons. The Bilingual/ESL Paraprofessional will also have the opportunity to play a significant role connecting with families and facilitating effective learning experiences through collaboration with content-area teachers. The Bilingual/ESL paraprofessional reports to campus principal or designee. Duties are performed under the general supervision of certified teachers. Note- Assigned campus may change on an annual basis based on district enrollment demographics.

Compensation for this role is set at an hourly rate ranging between $15.51 for 0 years of experience and $21.33 Hourly co-teachers earnings are paid out over a 12-month periodOther Benefits:

Education:
Completion of at least 48 semester units of study at an accredited institution of higher education OR possession of an associate's degree or higher from an accredited institution of higher educationExperience:
1+ year(s) of experience working with children in a classroom or volunteer setting ; Experience working with Emergent Bilinguals in an educational setting (strongly preferred )Required:
Bilingual English & Spanish Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 poundsKnowledge and Skills:

- 90% Provide instructional support and language instruction to newcomer Emergent Bilingual (EB)/English Learner (EL) students in classroom, individual, and small group settings.
