To assist in monitoring students placed within In-School Supervision, acquire and administer assignments provided by the classroom teacher, and maintain a disciplined environment under the general supervision of the principal and immediate direction of a certified teacher.QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma/GED Texas Educational Aide Certificate (Educational Aide III Certification)SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Ability to work well with children and youth Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to use the personal computer.EXPERIENCE
None (For Grades 1 � 8) If assignment is for grades 9 - 12 where students are assigned for less than six weeks.. .requires Level III Aide certification(• Three years as a classroom aide or 30 semester hours of college credit with emphasis on child growth and development)MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Validate parent authorization forms. Verify and report student daily attendance. Acquire student's daily assignments from teacher. Work with individual students to complete assignments given by classroom teacher. Provide assistance to students for completion of teacher prepared assignments. Maintain discipline and other non- instructional functions. Escort and supervise students to and from cafeteria. Perform other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

An Educational Aide III certificate is required for aides assigned to a setting where student's grades 9-12 are assigned for less than six weeks. A valid Texas teaching certificate is required when student's grades 9-12 are assigned more than six weeks. 19 TAC �230.601.
