EMPLOYMENT BEGINS

PRIMARY PURPOSE
To monitor course activity and attendance, along with grading activities and giving prompt student feedback while providing one to one student meetings through proactive outreach. Educators will also intervene when students miss milestones within their coursework.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
Certified Texas Teacher
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Basic computer knowledge Organizational Skills Communication Skills
EXPERIENCE
No prior experience required
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Credit Recovery teachers will aggressively monitor students work while both in attendance in class and outside of class. Credit Recovery teachers will provide support to students in the various courses they are taking. Some examples are the following but not limited to. Helping students' problem solve Assisting in understanding online assignment requirements Assisting students in learning the online tools provided by Edgenuity Communicating with students' counselors, and their guardians on a regular basis. Keeping track of students progress online and in a paper trail A binder must be kept of all earned credits for each school year and held onto for three years per the state of Texas. Ordering proper supplies for computer labs and student needs within their coursework Perform other duties as assigned by campus administration. Keeping a positive attitude throughout the class and helping the classroom paraprofessional in keeping the classroom under control and focused.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Working with classroom paraprofessional and communicating with counselors, and principals regarding students' progress. Communicating with paraprofessional on classroom collaborating and checking in daily on progress within each class. Actively monitoring students while working online the entire class period Reporting to counselors and principals on student's progress

Organizational Skills Working with At-Risk, and unaccredited students Adapting to needs of counselors Constant parent communication Physical demands/environmental factors: Being able to actively walk around the classroom and monitor each students screen and assist with any questions. Adapting to possible internet outages and technology mishaps.
