Job Description
Position Summary The Teacher Assistant supports the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. This role helps implement daily activities, ensures the classroom is clean and organized, and assists with the overall care and supervision of children in accordance with Kiddie Academy's standards and state licensing requirements. Key Responsibilities Assist Lead Teacher in planning and implementing daily curriculum, lessons, and activities that promote physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development. Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times, both indoors and outdoors. Help prepare materials, classroom setups, and learning centers. Support children in routines such as meals, rest time, and transitions. Provide positive guidance, encourage independence, and foster respect among children. Maintain open communication with Lead Teacher and Center Director regarding classroom needs, concerns, and student progress. Keep the classroom clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards. Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions as required. Follow Kiddie Academy policies, state licensing regulations, and health/safety guidelines. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (required). CDA credential or college coursework in Early Childhood Education (preferred, but not required). Previous experience working with children in a licensed childcare facility (preferred). Ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team. Strong communication, patience, and organizational skills. Work Environment Full-time or part-time, depending on center needs. Classroom and outdoor playground setting. Must be flexible with assigned age groups (infant, toddler, preschool, or school-age).
