Job Description

About Us:
At Hashim Learning Center, we are dedicated to helping students achieve their academic goals and build confidence in the classroom. We are currently seeking a passionate, organized, and talented math teaching assistant to join our team. If you have a genuine love for teaching, a strong background in upper-level mathematics, and the ability to keep a classroom running smoothly (both academically and technologically!), we want to hear from you.
The Role:
As a teaching assistant, your primary focus will be guiding high school students through Summer SAT prep, specifically targeting SAT Math. During the academic year and alongside SAT prep, you will also lead small-group sessions focused on homework assistance and comprehensive test reviews. Beyond teaching, you will be the backbone of our classroom's daily operations, from designing lesson plans to ensuring our technology is up and running.
Key Responsibilities:
SAT Summer Prep:
Lead and deliver highly effective SAT Math preparation sessions during the summer months to help students maximize their scores.
Student Mentorship:
Build and maintain a strong, positive rapport with students, inspiring them to engage with challenging material.
Operational Organization:
Maintain meticulous organization of physical classroom materials, including managing student folders, files, and storage crates.
Technology Support:
Act as the on-site tech point of contact; troubleshoot, maintain, and ensure the proper functioning of classroom computers, printers, and basic network connections.
Qualifications & Expertise:
Subject Matter Expert:
Must possess deep, demonstrable expertise in Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, and SAT Math.
Teaching Experience:
Prior tutoring, teaching, or mentoring experience preferred. You must truly love teaching and working with high school students.
Tech-Savvy:
Strong working knowledge of classroom technology with the ability to independently troubleshoot standard computer and printer issues.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively explain complex mathematical concepts to a variety of learners.

$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
