Full Job Description Overview:
Trinity Charter School was created in 2004 by Lutheran Social Services of the South. The district has a very distinct charter that specializes in serving students in residential treatment centers and Office of Refugee Resettlement centers. Since its original opening, the district has grown to seven schools found in the communities of Canyon Lake, Corpus Christi, Katy, Lockhart, Tyler and Big Sandy, Texas. The district enrollment is capped at a daily enrollment of 650 students. Throughout the year, however, the district is anticipated to serve over 2,000 students. Most students attending the Trinity Charter School have been placed by the Texas Department of Child Protective Services, Juvenile Court and/or the Office of Refugee Resettlement. Trinity Charter Schools, pursuant to Chapter 22 of the Texas Education Code, will fingerprint, and conduct a criminal background check, on applicants. Employment is contingent up successful completion of the criminal background check.
Responsibilities:
General Description:
The purpose of the Paraprofessional/Instructional Aide (Para) is to provide individual and/or group instructional support to students, as well as to assist classroom teachers with documentation and other duties. Under the guidance and instruction of the teacher, the Para helps implement teacher-prepared lesson plans; assists with the supervision of students; is instrumental in maintaining a positive behavioral environment for students; and assists in keeping the classroom neat, attractive and orderly. The Paraprofessional is expected to work as needed. Assist in individual and group instruction of students, as assigned by teacher. Assist teacher in supervising students in the classroom, to maintain positive and effective learning environment. Take on additional assigned responsibilities in the temporary absence of the teacher from the classroom Assist in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Plans. Assist teacher in supervising students throughout the scheduled workday, including before and after school hours, during transitions and recreational activities, for restroom breaks, and at mealtime. Follow all school policies, and assist with the appropriate enforcement of established rules and guidelines Model appropriate language, dress, and behavior for students. Communicate professionally and effectively with students, administrators, teachers and other school staff. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Associates Degree in a related field or (preferred) Completion of two years of study at an institution of higher education or (preferred) Completion of 48 semester hours of college coursework in a related field (preferred)
