Helps teachers with recordkeeping, preparation for lessons and activities and supervising students. May work with special education students, or work in a school library or computer lab; may be called teacher aide or paraprofessional.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
Student Support Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to students with higher needs. Assist students with classroom assignments and understanding lessons. Support behavior management strategies and implement IEPs. Monitor and encourage student progress academically, socially, and emotionally. If assigned on a one-on-one basis be able to help students with physical needs Instructional Assistance Adapt lessons and materials under the guidance of the resource room teacher. Reinforce learning concepts taught by the teacher. Assist in preparing instructional materials and resources. Behavioral Support Implement positive behavior support plans. Observe and report student behavior and progress. Encourage positive social interactions among students. Collaboration & Teamwork Work closely with teachers, specialists, and staff as part of a collaborative team. Communicate effectively with staff and families regarding student needs and progress. Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and professional development. Classroom Management Maintain a safe, organized, and respectful learning environment. Assist with classroom routines and transitions. Support students in following rules and expectations Job Qualifications Pass a background check CNA or LPN experience preferred High School Diploma required Associates Degree or ParaPro Test required Bachelors Degree recommended Experience in Special Education recommended
