Resume This position is to hire substitutes for the aides who help with reading. The hours are as needed and could be up to 29 hours per week. Position Overview The Aide - Basic supports the instructional program within assigned classrooms by assisting teachers with instructional activities, working with individual students or small groups, monitoring students in various school settings, and maintaining classroom organization and materials. Key Responsibilities Assist with classroom activities, assignments, and instructional materials under the direction of the supervising teacher. Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts and assist with assignments. Implement instructional programs and lesson plans under teacher supervision. Maintain classroom work areas, equipment, and records to support instructional activities. Monitor students in various school settings, including classrooms, playgrounds, hallways, and lunch areas. Communicate with teachers and staff regarding student progress and observations. Report incidents involving student behavior, safety concerns, or accidents to appropriate personnel. Respond to emergency situations involving students and ensure appropriate assistance is provided. Attend meetings and training sessions related to job responsibilities. Support classroom teachers and school personnel with instructional and organizational tasks. Perform other related duties as assigned. Job Requirements - Minimum Qualifications Skills Operating standard office equipment and software applications Preparing and maintaining accurate records Supporting classroom instructional activities Knowledge Basic math calculations Grammar and punctuation Child development and learning styles School safety and security practices Abilities Communicate effectively with students and staff Maintain confidentiality Work collaboratively with teachers and staff Manage multiple tasks and frequent interruptions Establish priorities and follow instructions Responsibility Works under direct supervision following established procedures while supporting classroom instruction and student supervision. Work Environment Work requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting while supporting students in classroom and school environments. Experience Job-related experience is desired. Education High school diploma plus job-related coursework. Required Testing None specified. Certificates and Licenses None specified.
