Aide - SPED Resource (Mild/Moderate)

Resume This posting is for a Braille Aide to assist a visually impaired student. Though knowledge of Braille would be helpful, it is not required, as USDE can train the applicant in what they need to know to help this student. Position Overview The Aide - SPED Resource supports instructional programs for students with mild to moderate disabilities by assisting with instruction, implementing IEP goals, monitoring student behavior, and supporting teachers in maintaining a safe learning environment. Aide, SPED Mild to Moderate Key Responsibilities Adapt classroom activities and materials to reinforce instructional objectives. Assist medically fragile or disabled students with personal care and health needs. Implement behavioral or instructional plans developed by IEP teams. Provide individual and small group instructional support. Monitor students during classroom and school activities. Maintain instructional materials and student records. Communicate with teachers and support staff regarding student progress. Attend meetings and training sessions related to student support. Respond to emergency situations involving students. Perform other related duties as assigned. Work Environment Work occurs in classroom environments and may require assisting students with mobility or personal care needs. Experience Job-related experience is desired. Education High school diploma or equivalent. Required Testing None specified. Certificates and Licenses None specified. Continuing Education / Training District-required annual training.
