Open Until Filled Kindergarten Aide Position Purpose Under the direct supervision of a licensed teacher, the Kindergarten Aide supports the classroom teacher in meeting instructional goals and objectives. By assisting with daily classroom operations and student supervision, the aide allows certified educators to focus on core instructional delivery, curriculum planning, and overall student development. Essential Job Functions Instructional Support Works with students individually or in small groups to reinforce basic skills in reading, language arts, mathematics, and technology. Assists the teacher in prepping classroom materials, organizing learning stations, and tailoring resources to meet individual student needs. Helps administer and grade daily classroom exercises, formative tests, and routine assessments. Classroom & Behavior Management Assists with classroom behavior management to minimize disruptions, maximize on-task time, and maintain a safe, orderly learning environment. Encourages positive social interactions and model appropriate behavior for young learners. Adheres to all safety rules, procedures, and regulations, including specific guidelines for supporting students with disabilities or special accommodations. Supervision & Daily Operations Supervises students in non-instructional areas, including lunch programs, playground recess, bus loading zones, and school corridors. Accompanies and helps supervise students during field trips and school-wide events. Constructs, copies, and distributes educational materials and learning aids as directed by the teacher. Documentation & Communication Assists with basic record-keeping to document student progress, attendance, and performance metrics. Helps the teacher maintain professional communication with parents to foster active family involvement in student education.
Additional Duties:
Assist other teachers, pupil services staff or building administration, as needed. Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements Travel between schools, or between schools and central offices, may be required for certain positions. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform arithmetic operations as needed to assist students. Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel). Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others. Ability to establish a supportive and compassionate relationship with students with special needs. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work. Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required. Effective writing and verbal communication skills. Work Environment Works in standard office and school building environments. Ability to work outdoors during outdoor student activities. Qualifications Profile Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: High School diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years of age Success completion of college level coursework or passing of examination as required by the No Child Left Behind Act.
