We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Instructional Paraprofessionals or Behavioral Technicians to work with Alexandria City Public Schools for the 2026-2027 school year and beyond! You will be instrumental in creating a positive and productive learning environment, working with students from pre-K to high school. In this role, you will provide support in either a 1:1 or general classroom capacity.

Compensation:

Instructional Paraprofessional:

$18.00 - $19.00 / hr

Behavioral Technician:

$20.00 - $21.00 / hr

Student Support:

Travel with a specific student throughout their school day, providing tailored behavioral and academic support to help them meet their individual goals.

General Classroom Support:

Work alongside a lead teacher to assist multiple students in a structured classroom environment. No two days look the same.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

Implementing behavioral support strategies in real time Communicating clearly and calmly with students, teachers, and administration Staying active throughout the day (standing, walking, occasional lifting up to 40 lbs) Contributing to a collaborative, student-first team culture Assisting with personal care and hygiene needs as required

Requirements:

Instructional Paraeducator:

Minimum two years of higher education completed, or an equivalent (48 semester credits or 72 quarter units) of higher education. A passing ParaPro test score can be substituted for the education requirement. Previous experience teaching or tutoring children in any capacity Certified in CPR (or willingness to obtain)

Behavioral Technician/Aide:

High school diploma or equivalent Hands-on experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) OR experience with behavioral management CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain)

Preferred:
