Schedule :
Monday-Friday, 5:00 PM-8:00 PM (15 hours/week)
Pay :
$20-25/hour, based on experience Preferred language : Vietnamese speakers preferred, but not required ---- Join Our Family as an After-School Learning Mentor Hello there! We are a family in McLean looking for a warm, dependable, and intellectually curious caregiver for our two children (ages 5 and 6). This is more exciting than a traditional babysitting position, where we're looking for someone who enjoys inspiring children to explore the world, ask questions, and develop a lifelong love of learning . If you love working with young children and enjoy science, art, nature, reading, history, museums, or discovering new things together, we'd love to meet you. Daily Responsibilities Pick up children from school or their after-school program. Safely drive them home or to after-school activities. Help them change clothes and get ready for sports or extracurricular activities (ie. swim, tennis, etc) Serve a healthy snack (prepared by parents). Assist with homework and reading. Engage them in hands-on learning through science, art, books, nature, cooking, games, crafts, museums, and outdoor exploration. Encourage curiosity, independence, confidence, and kindness. Communicate observations with parents about each child's interests, strengths, and development. We're Looking For Someone Who Is Warm, patient, dependable, trust-worthy, and energetic. Organized, punctual, and proactive. Naturally curious and enjoys learning. Passionate about helping children discover their strengths and interests. Comfortable partnering with parents. Enjoys spending time outdoors and being active.
Qualifications Required:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Reliable transportation. Experience caring for children ages 5-7. Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred:
Fluent or conversational Vietnamese. Studying or has completed coursework in Education, Child Development, Psychology, Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, or a STEM field. CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain certification). Schedule & Pay Starts at the end of September, 2026 Monday-Friday, 5:00 PM-8:00 PM (15 hours per week). $20-25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Consistent, long-term position preferred.
