QUALIFICATIONS
Hold an Associates degree or higher; OR have passed or be able to pass the Praxis ParaPro Assessment.
REPORTS TO
Principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
10 month, 182 days
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives. Assists teacher with conducting lessons, managing the classroom and developing materials Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Empower students through programs designed to enhance their academic and social achievements Work with computers and specialized AV equipment to make these resources available to the teacher during lessons Act as a nurturing and encouraging influence for students during lessons Monitor the classroom and minimize distractions and disruptions Effectively collaborate with department and grade level teachers.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations. Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, division policy and administrative regulation. Remain current on instructional practices in education. (e.g. instructional technology)
