Job Summary Join our vibrant after-school program team as an After-School Program Assistant, where your energy and enthusiasm will help create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children. In this role, you will support daily activities, supervise children, and assist in implementing educational and recreational programs that promote growth, creativity, and positive social interactions. Responsibilities Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being through attentive child supervision and behavior management. Facilitate engaging youth group activities, including arts and crafts, outdoor games, tutoring sessions, and team-building exercises. Maintain a safe environment by following first aid protocols, administering basic first aid or CPR when necessary, and responding promptly to emergencies. Collaborate with team members to plan and execute outdoor work activities and camp-style experiences that foster outdoor learning and physical activity. Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and staff regarding children's progress, behavior, or concerns while maintaining confidentiality. Requirements Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and early childhood education best practices. Certification in CPR, First Aid protocols, AED operation, or willingness to obtain these certifications upon hire. Strong classroom management skills coupled with the ability to supervise multiple children simultaneously in a safe manner. Experience facilitating youth group activities or tutoring young learners is advantageous. Ability to work outdoors comfortably during various weather conditions while engaging children in outdoor activities.
