Assistant Teacher About Us Children's House Montessori School of Reston (CHMS) is a small, family-oriented school located in a peaceful wooded setting in Reston, Virginia. We believe that a child's first school experience should be filled with curiosity, exploration and opportunities for independence. We offer a 5 day a week Montessori based program for children 3 years of age through kindergarten.

Assistant Teacher Hours:

8:30-5:00

Salary Range:

$18-$19/hour Qualifications Classroom experience working with preschool children in a school group setting. Have received or be willing to receive classroom training in the Montessori philosophy and be interested in the development of young children. Relate well to children ages 3-6 years old, have a warm and friendly personality, and be able to work in harmony with other staff members. Strive to provide a warm, safe, and stimulating environment where a child's potential to learn and explore is maximized. Willingness to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the school's philosophy. Be reliable, punctual, and flexible. Benefits Paid time off (5 weeks + federal holidays) for Full Time year round employees. We follow FCPS holiday and teacher work day schedules for the majority of days. 8 Personal Days per calendar year. IRA retirement plan (after one year of employment), with employer matching up to 3%. Professional development/training and supportive work environment. Start Date Aug 27, 2026, following successful interview, in house visit, as well as all background/reference checks and initial training.
