Preschool Assistant Teacher / Aftercare Teacher Little Lions Christian Preschool is looking for a caring, dependable, and energetic Preschool Assistant Teacher / Aftercare Teacher to join our team! This position is a combination role. During the preschool day, you will work alongside a lead teacher to support the classroom and help provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for our students. After the preschool day ends, you will transition into our Aftercare Program, supervising and engaging with children through the afternoon. Responsibilities During the

Preschool Day:

Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities and routines Help create a loving, positive, and Christ-centered classroom environment Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children Assist with classroom activities, crafts, learning centers, and play Support children with transitions, meals, bathroom routines, and other daily needs Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom Build positive relationships with children and families Work cooperatively with teachers and other staff members Follow all preschool policies, procedures, and safety guidelines

During Aftercare:

Supervise children in a safe, fun, and nurturing environment Plan and participate in age-appropriate activities, games, crafts, and outdoor play Assist children with snacks and afternoon routines Encourage positive social interactions and appropriate behavior Maintain a clean and organized aftercare environment Provide a warm and welcoming experience for children as they transition from their preschool day Qualifications Previous experience working with young children preferred Must be dependable, responsible, and punctual Must have a genuine love for children Ability to work well as part of a team Patient, energetic, and positive attitude Strong communication skills Must be willing to follow all preschool policies and procedures CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willing to obtain) Must meet applicable Virginia childcare employment requirements What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who will become a positive and dependable part of our Little Lions family.
