Job Description

Albany Community School is looking for a para to join our team! The employee will be able to work with students and staff to support students in the general education environment. They will help teachers to support students who are not on an IEP. This could include academics 1:1 or small group as well as behavior.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure students are supported in the classroom given direction from classroom teachers in areas such as academics or behavior
  • Able to be on time for job duration
  • Transition easily within a variety of grades, classroom teaching styles, and children with a variety of abilities
  • Follow lesson plans from the classroom teacher
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Use time wisely and plan accordingly
  • Able to effectively manage behaviors within a classroom and in a one-on-one situation

Albany Community School is a rural school with about 90 students enrolled in fifth through eighth grade. We have a beautiful 50 acre campus that includes mountain biking trails with a pump track, a beaver pond for observations, and XC ski trails in the winter. Teachers enjoy using the land to enhance student learning. Our vision is, We strive to provide an environment where students will develop to their fullest. Orleans Central Supervisory Union is located in the heart of the Northeast Kingdom which is known for scenic and rugged area of hills, sugarbushes, farmland and lakes.
