Job Description

Positions Available Lead Teacher Assistant Teacher Dates Session One - July 13-July 24th Session Two - August 3rd-August 14th Times Monday-Friday, 8:30AM-4:15PM. 30 min lunch break between 12:00-1:00PM Stipend $1600 Lead Teacher, per 2-week session $1300 Assistant Teacher, per 2-week session Program Description Brave Young Vaudevillians is a summer program for NEYT's youngest performers. This camp serves as an introduction to NEYT while incorporating outdoor activities, unstructured play, and some very basic theatre arts games and skill development. This program culminates in a short variety show devised by the students with guidance from the teachers. Job Responsibilities
  • Supervise a group of 8 students ages 6-8.
  • Plan a 10-day age-appropriate curriculum that incorporates some elements of performance skills activities, curating props and costumes, and ensemble-building.
  • Create a safe, fun, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Guide the students in creating a culminating cabaret-style showcase, with short segments based on their interests (jokes, juggling, interpretive dance, karaoke, etc.) Ideal Candidates will have:
  • 2+ years experience working with 6-8 year olds
  • 1+ years experience as a theatrical teaching artist or practicing performer
  • A positive attitude and enthusiasm for early childhood development
