Immediately Job Description We are hiring a 1:1 Paraprofessional to join our team. We are looking for someone who is team and child-oriented, has experience supporting students with behavior challenges, and is committed to growing professionally while making a real difference in a child's life. This position demands a high degree of flexibility as student needs shift quickly and frequently. The role itself will also evolve as our school-based behavioral and social-emotional learning teams assess needs and make adjustments. The position primarily supports student behavior as a dedicated 1:1 paraprofessional, working exclusively with one student who requires increased social, emotional, and behavioral support.Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Assisting with check-in/check-out plans
- Managing the student during "resets" in our behavioral support room
- Using visual cue cards
- Supporting the student with academic tasks and testing in a separate setting The position will work closely with the classroom teacher, classroom paraprofessional, behaviorist, school counselor, school-based clinician, and school behavior support personnel.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or higher in a related field (preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience working with students with significant social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
- CPI Certification or willingness to train immediately
- Ability to apply basic math for calculating figures and amounts
- Computer literacy with competency in spreadsheets and databases
- Clear written, oral, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and problem-solving skills; able to prioritize independently
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Collaborative approach with demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team
Salary & Benefits:
As per Teacher's Negotiated Agreement. Hourly rate between $19.50 and $22.00 an hour, based on previous experience and education level.
