Job Description

Maplehill School and Farm is a relationship-based, land-based independent school serving students who benefit from a personalized and therapeutic approach to education. We believe that strong relationships inspire learning and that students thrive when they are known, valued, challenged, and supported. We are currently seeking four full-time Instructional Assistants to join our team for the 2026-27 school year and beyond . Opportunities are available in two distinct programs: Greatwood Campus Program (GCP) - serving upper elementary students (approximately ages 9-12) Individual Care Program (ICP) - serving teenagers and young adults as they build academic, social, vocational, and independent living skills in preparation for life after graduation About the Role Instructional Assistants work alongside teachers and support staff to help students engage successfully in all aspects of the school day. This includes academic support, social-emotional learning, recreational activities, community-based experiences, and hands-on projects. At Maplehill, learning happens in classrooms, workshops, gardens, kitchens, farms, community settings, and outdoor spaces. Successful candidates are positive, flexible, compassionate individuals who enjoy building meaningful relationships with young people and helping them develop confidence, resilience, and independence. We are especially interested in applicants who bring skills, interests, or enthusiasm in areas such as: Outdoor education and recreation Carpentry, woodworking, and building projects Mechanics and hands-on problem-solving Agriculture, gardening, and animal care Cooking and culinary arts Art, music, and creative pursuits Community service and experiential learning Qualifications Valid driver's license and good driving record Ability to pass a background check Experience working with children, adolescents, or young adults preferred A strong desire to support students through relationship-based and experiential learning Compensation $20-$25 per hour, commensurate with experience and education.
