Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
Support the Lead Teacher in managing the classroom and maintaining a calm, orderly environment Assist with the preparation and maintenance of Montessori materials and the learning environment Observe children's behavior and development and report observations to the Lead Teacher Model grace, courtesy, and respectful communication at all times Encourage and assist children with independence in daily routines (e.g., dressing, toileting, cleaning up) Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety at all times Help with transitions between activities, meals, and nap time Support classroom cleaning and organization, including sanitizing materials and maintaining order Collaborate with the teaching team and attend staff meetings and training sessions as required Communicate with parents as directed by the Lead Teacher or school administration
Qualifications:
Genuine love and respect for young children Familiarity with or interest in Montessori education (Montessori training or experience preferred but not required) Ability to follow instructions and take initiative when appropriate Strong observation and communication skills Patience, reliability, and a calm demeanor Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Must meet local licensing requirements for assistant teachers (e.g., background checks, health requirements)
