Assistant Teacher - Childcare

Creative Minds Learning Centers are licensed child care programs serving the Buckley & Enumclaw communities. We are a small child care program and have an amazing team of teachers. One of our wonderful teammates has completed her local education and will be leaving us to continue on her teaching path. We are looking to fill this role very soon to begin the training process. We are seeking a highly capable individual with a fantastic personality to join our Buckley team! In a candidate we are looking for a reliable , positive, responsible, experienced, self-starter, and fun-loving person with a strong work ethic who will have a meaningful impact on children's lives. Someone with a kind heart that can bond well with children. We can teach you classroom management but we need a positive personality to start with =) We have an organized daily routine, clean up checklists, predesigned curriculum, and schedule to be followed that will take out the guesswork. Our center opens at 6:30am and closes at 5:30pm Monday

• Friday. We offer paid holidays & paid vacation closures after 90 days. We are closed major holidays and on the weekends. Half off

The perfect individual to fill this position would have experience with young children, strong organization skills, impeccable work ethics, stellar communication skills with a high attention to detail. Someone who is professional and dedicated to the overall well being of the students and their environment. You would be responsible for providing meaningful care to your students that include developmentally appropriate education such as play based learning, redirection, creative arts, and language development. This also includes meeting physical needs such as feeding, toileting, and basic hygiene needs. These things are communicated with parents through our parent app and at drop off and pick up. All activities are logged throughout the day. Our environment includes the whole center such as the classrooms and the playgrounds. We take great pride in the cleanliness and organization of our environment! It is an important tool in our ability to provide the highest level of care possible. We disinfect and deep clean the center on a regular basis not only because it is required by the Washington Administrative Code, but because a well-maintained environment provides safety and security for both children and staff. We are a team. This means it is not just the one classroom we regularly work in that we pay attention to, but the overall center. Each staff member is cross trained to be able to help their fellow teachers if the need arises. This is one of the reasons reliability is key. You can rely on your teammates as they will in turn rely on you. This position is full time 4-5 days per week depending on the applicant's availability. As mentioned above, we have a small program in Buckley. We have 3 classrooms including Infants (0-12mo) which as 1 teacher and 4 infants. Toddler (12mo-3yr) which has 2 teachers and 12 students. Preschool (3yr-5yr) which has 2 teachers and 15 students. Yes, this is below the state ratios but that is intentional. We prefer to keep our program on the smaller side to allow for more flexibility. This is one of the reasons why we cross train all our staff so each member is well rounded and capable. We are fortunate enough to have a very early closing schedule of 5:30pm Monday

We are a licensed child care center. In order to work in this environment, you must be able to pass a criminal background check before you start, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and complete the required state training such as First Aid & CPR, food handlers card, basic STARS training, clear TB test. Preferred Qualifications:

• Have knowledge of child development as evidenced by professional reference, education, experience, or on-the-job performance.
• Ability to work effectively independently and with a team.
• Strong communication skills. You must be able to speak with the parents confidently and be able to communicate their child's daily experience and progress. Saying "they were great" is not enough.
• Have a valid

DRIVERS LICENSE.

• Attention to detail, ability to adapt/ follow directions, sensitive to family situations, and ability to be discreet.
• Strong organization and detailed cleaning experience. We keep our environments very clean to protect both children and staff.
• Fun, knowledgeable, experienced, and creative!

Must love to sing, dance, play like a kid, and just be downright silly!
