POSITION SUMMARY

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. he ECEAP Assistant Teacher promotes an inclusive learning environment for children, where they build lasting and meaningful relationships with their peers, family and community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Cultivates positive relationships with children, families and co-workers remaining dedicated to the learning and success of each unique child Support in classrooms by supervising, engaging, and nurturing children in purposeful programming Adheres to ECEAP, Washington State DCYF Licensing, Early Achievers and YMCA standards as implemented by the Lead Teacher and ADA accommodations where appropriate. Follows all procedures and safety standards. Assists in implementation and planning of educational and impactful children's curriculum based on child development and program curriculum Aid in ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of individual children as required by ECEAP, and support in maintaining required program records as requested by supervisor. Maintains program site and equipment, and classroom cleanliness and organization to ensure a well-prepared learning environment for children. Attends and engages with staff and participants in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training Demonstrate through action and interaction with staff, Y participants and the public the Four Character Development Principles of the

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have, or willing to receive, Early Childhood Education Certificate within 5 years of hire. Previous experience working with children in a developmental, diverse setting required. STARTING PAY

$19.47/hr
