PAY:
$23.96•26.96 per hour based on prior experience The position ends when the need for a 1:1 assistant ends.
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED; You must upload a copy of your HS diploma or GED Meet WA State Para-professional Qualifications (An associate's degree, or 72 Quarter Credits from an accredited college/university, or passing score on the ETS Test.)

RESPONSIBILITIES
FOLLOW
DISTRICT, LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL STATUTES RELEVANT TO A PUBLIC SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT

MAINTAIN AN APPROPRIATE AND LEGAL LEVEL OF CONFIDENTIALITY OF INFORMATION REGARDING STUDENTS, STAFF, AND OTHER INDIVIDUALS HAVING BUSINESS WITH AND ACCESS TO THE SCHOOL
Exhibit ethical behavior at all times Follow confidentiality procedures
MAINTAIN A SAFE, CLEAN, AND ORGANIZED ENVIRONMENT FOR STUDENTS AND STAFF
Preview daily plan Confer on daily lesson plan with substitute teacher(s) Provide plans for substitute if you are absent Check wheelchairs/walkers etc. for safety concerns
SET-UP FOR DAILY AND PERIODIC ACTIVITIES
Prepare classroom supplies/materials Supervise student(s)
PREPARATION TO ASSIST THE CLASSROOM TEACHER WITH INSTRUCTION AS ASSIGNED
Prepare, collect, and organize daily materials Correct student assignments Assist student with accommodations/modifications Assist other teachers when time permits Assist in taking inventory Assist in disinfecting equipment Create and update student files
PROVIDE ASSISTANCE WITH ALL ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES FOR THE STUDENT, AS ASSIGNED BY THE TEACHER
Assist and supervise student in specialists' classrooms and activities as needed Scribe and adapt instruction (daily assignments/tests) Read orally to student(s) Assist student during activities or with the preparation of projects as appropriate Assist other Special Ed. students in the absence of one-on-one student Assist student in preparation for classroom tests Monitor/administer student assessment Assist small groups in academic instruction Document daily student performance and progress
ASSIST STUDENT IN ALL SELF-HELP ACTIVITIES
Assist student in transitional skills (start of day/non-instructional time/adaptive equipment/etc.) Assist and supervise student during field trips/assemblies/lunch and other activities Assist in changing clothes Escort to and from the bus Help with toileting and toilet training Assist in all IEP goals
MAINTAIN POSITIVE COMMUNICATION AMONG STUDENTS, PARENTS AND SCHOOL STAFF
Identify students' interests Monitor for notes/homework or any parent-to-school communication Confer with teachers, specialists and parents relevant to student needs Attend meetings when required Implement strategies to achieve IEP goals Assist with daily communication between home and school as directed by the teacher
ASSIST WITH THE INSTRUCTION OF PERSONAL HYGIENE
Educate students about personal hygiene Remind students to wash hands Wash student face and wiping noses when needed Assist with changing of soiled clothes when necessary
MONITOR AND PROVIDE POSITIVE DISCIPLINE AS NECESSARY
Supervise student in cafeteria/playground/lunch/activities Document student behavior as appropriate Be consistent, fair and positive in all interactions Follow the school-wide discipline plan Follow the behavior intervention plan Follow CPI Training Guidelines Be available to assist with discipline issues and problems Attend to behavioral issues firmly, but positively
