Our mission is to promote and provide affordable housing and tailored services to reduce homelessness and poverty. The One-on-One Aide supports a child in the classroom by building a positive, trusting relationship and helping the child fully participate in daily learning activities. Working under the direction of the Lead Teacher, this position provides individualized support to meet the child's developmental, social, and behavioral needs. This role is well suited for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in early childhood education, behavioral support, and inclusive classroom practices. Purpose The One-on-One Aide is responsible for implementing individualized learning and behavioral strategies to support the child's participation and progress in the classroom, in accordance with program standards and under the supervision of the Lead Teacher. This position requires professional judgment and conduct, including maintaining appropriate boundaries, supporting a respectful environment, and communicating effectively with children, families, and staff. The One-on-One Aide is also responsible for safeguarding confidential information and completing required documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Tomorrow's Hope is proud to be part of the Washington State Early Achievers Program. Essential Functions i nclude the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. Ensure the health and safety of all Tomorrow's Hope children. Maintain effective communication with leadership and parents. Support the child's development in age-appropriate skills, including toileting, language, self-help, self-regulation, and social interaction. Implement daily routines, transitions, and activities appropriate to the child's developmental level. Provide behavioral support and redirection as needed. Maintain and reinforce predictable routines to support the child's participation. Assist in maintaining a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. Support the planning and implementation of curriculum aligned with the child's individual developmental needs. Provide feedback to teaching staff on child progress and classroom activities. Support the child's participation in individual, small group, and large group settings. Follow all Housing Hope and Tomorrow's Hope policies, procedures, and program standards. Maintain confidentiality of child and family information in accordance with policy and applicable laws. Collaborate effectively with team members to support program goals and positive classroom outcomes. Participate in required trainings and apply learned skills to job performance. Demonstrate professionalism, including appropriate conduct, reliability, and openness to feedback. Seek guidance as needed and incorporate supervisory feedback to improve performance. Maintain a positive, composed, and supportive demeanor with children and families. Perform other duties as assigned to support a safe, clean, and healthy environment. The environment may be active and noise levels may range from moderate to loud. Duties require regular interaction with children, families, and staff in both structured and unstructured settings.
