Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role as a paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year, supporting elementary students near La Conner, Washington. This full-time contract position offers 35 hours per week and is perfect for those who are passionate about helping young learners thrive—especially those with special education needs. You'll work in close partnership with classroom teachers and special education teams, building positive relationships with students and empowering them to reach their academic and personal goals in a welcoming educational setting.
Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one and small-group assistance to students during lessons and activities. Support the instructional needs of students with individualized learning plans. Foster an inclusive and safe classroom environment. Follow lesson plans and supervision guidelines from teachers and staff. Assist in supervising students and upholding daily routines. Communicate professionally with staff, students, and families. Encourage independence, confidence, and positive social development.
Qualifications:
Valid Washington State paraprofessional credential/license or an Associate's Degree. Previous experience working with children, especially in special education, is preferred. Strong attendance record and a collaborative, student-focused work ethic. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This contract position begins as soon as possible and will continue through June 16, 2027, providing job security and the chance to make a genuine difference for students over an entire school year.
