St. Luke's Preschool is seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and nurturing educators to join our growing preschool team for the upcoming 26/27 school year. We are currently hiring for multiple part-time teaching and support positions serving children ages 12 months through Pre-K. Opportunities may include assistant teaching, co-teaching, enrichment support, floating support staff, summer camp staff, and lead teacher placements depending on experience, qualifications, and program needs. Our preschool is a supportive, play-based, relationship-centered community that values creativity, collaboration, curiosity, and hands-on learning. Knowledge of Reggio Emilia Philosophy, nature-based learning, or the Curiosity Approach is a plus. We are looking for team members who are passionate about early childhood education, genuinely enjoy working with children, and thrive in a collaborative team environment. Schedule Monday-Friday Part-time positions available Typical hours range between 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM Additional planning or event hours may occasionally be required Compensation $18.00-$23.00 per hour DOE About St. Luke's Preschool At St. Luke's Preschool, we believe children learn best through play, exploration, creativity, and meaningful relationships. Key Responsibilities Support and/or implement engaging, play-based curriculum and classroom activities Foster a safe, positive, and joyful classroom environment Supervise children during classroom routines, transitions, outdoor play, and enrichment activities Support children with daily routines including toileting, handwashing, meals/snacks, and rest time as needed Help guide children through positive behavior support and social-emotional learning Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and safety Communicate professionally and effectively with coworkers and families Participate in staff meetings, planning, trainings, and school events Work collaboratively with teaching teams and administration to support classroom success Assist with lesson preparation, classroom materials, and documentation as needed Qualifications Proven experience working with children in classroom settings such as daycare, preschool, licensed childcare, or private school environments preferred ECE education, credits, degree, or relevant certifications preferred Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles, classroom management strategies, and lesson planning techniques Experience developing, following, and/or assisting with lesson planning and engaging classroom activities Familiarity with curriculum development methods including Reggio Emilia, Montessori, nature-based learning, or other child-centered educational frameworks is a plus Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behavior while fostering a nurturing, supportive, and engaging environment Passionate about child development and supporting young learners socially, emotionally, and academically Strong collaboration and teamwork skills with the ability to work closely with coworkers, families, and administration Excellent verbal, written, and digital communication skills Comfortable using email, Google Docs, and text communication Reliable, punctual, flexible, professional, and team-oriented Comfortable working outdoors year-round in all weather conditions Able to actively engage in outdoor play, movement, and nature-based learning for extended periods of time, as our students spend an hour or more outdoors daily rain or shine Able to actively participate in classroom activities including sitting on the floor, movement, outdoor supervision, and active play Able to lift up to 40 pounds when necessary Willing to complete required background checks, CPR/First Aid certifications, and trainings
