Hours / Work Times 8 Hours Per Day (7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. includes 30 minutes unpaid lunch) 190 Days Per Year (180 student days / 10 holidays) This position will remain open until a qualified applicant is selected. The earliest date a recommendation for hire may be submitted is after 09/04/26.

Must meet Paraeducator Employment Requirements as follows

•:

Be at least eighteen (18) years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent; AND

Must meet one or more of the following:

Have received a passing score of 455 or higher on the Education Testing Service ParaPro Assessment (ETS test/PRAXIS); or

Hold an Associate Degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or

Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university; or

Have completed a Paraeducator Apprenticeship Program (program must be registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council).

•If you do not meet the required qualifications listed above, your name will be screened out from the list of qualified candidates.

Upon hire, new paraeducators will be required to complete state required training offered through Evergreen School District.

Salary Placement:

New employees will start at the minimum hourly rate in the classification salary range. However, employees who have verified prior years of service of similar occupational experience may receive experience credit towards salary step placement.

STATEMENT

The Computer Guided Study Paraeducator will work as part of the secondary educational building team in the planning and implementation of Guided Study, Peer Tutors, and the Computer Guided Study program for the high school buildings in the Evergreen School District. This may include, but is not limited to providing one-on-one, small group, and large group assistance to students involved in credit recovery and WASL preparation; setting up and demonstrating the operation of the Computer Guided Study program to students and teachers; setting up and demonstrating adaptive equipment and software for students and teachers; participating in workshops, presentations, and demonstrations scheduled by the high schools, and providing support to students and teachers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Communicate effectively with administrators, counselors, teachers and students, in person, by telephone, via E-mail, and in writing.

Work with Instructional Technology staff in updating Computer Guided Study programs.

Attend At-Risk meetings with Advocates, Counselors, and Administrators.

Provide central management of Computer Guided Study System.

Oversee monthly Computer Guided Study user's group meeting.

Maintain record keeping for students who have been assigned Computer Guided Study.

Communicate with Counselors regarding student progress.

Participate in workshops, meetings, and activities of Computer Guided Study Training.

Remain current in existing and emerging Computer Guided Study instructional strategies and software.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Supplement Computer Guided Study lessons with instruction and personalized attention.

Detailed record keeping of each student's progress.

Communicate with Computer Guided Study counter parts as needed.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT NECESSARY

Windows, Computer Guided Study software, BASI, Excel, telephone, FAX machine, copy machine, and all other tools and equipment necessary to perform the essential functions as listed above.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

(Testing may be required)

Light typing/keyboarding (35-50 wpm).

A minimum of two years of experience in a related field, or equivalent training.

Experience with alternative education environment preferred.

Demonstrated ability to perform on the computer, using the Windows environment, Microsoft Word, Excel, Computer Guided Study software, and various other instructional software in the Windows format.

Demonstrated ability to perform tasks accurately and in accordance with established guidelines.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and the general public.

Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities at one time.

Demonstrated ability to operate the office equipment and instructional technology related to this position.
