Full Time Special Education Assistant School District of Lodi, WI Lodi, WI Job Details Full-time $15.50 - $19.50 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Flexible spending account Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Student supervision Working with students Child supervision Full Job Description Teachers and educational assistants are partners in education, working together to provide the best educational experience possible for each child. Special Education Assistants serve under the direction and supervision of the special education teacher to assist in carrying out the individualized education program (IEP). This position will be providing support for students in grades 6-8. The successful candidate will provide academic assistance to students with disabilities in 1 on 1, small group, and whole group settings during instructional times as well as providing behavioral and self regulation support. Daily responsibilities may also include crossing guard duty, outside supervision, and lunchroom supervision.
A successful candidate:
Must be friendly, patient, outgoing, flexible, and organized Must enjoy working with students with disabilities Must communicate with students in a positive manner Must have a strong work ethic Must be able to work under teacher supervision Must be able to supervise both small and large groups of students Must be able to sit on the floor, stand for long stretches of time, and walk briskly Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical, background check, drug test, and TB screening The ability to speak Spanish is desired but not required. The position is for 7:30am-3:30pm, Monday through Friday, following the school year calendar. This position will remain open until filled.
