QUALIFICATIONS YOU'LL NEED
Basic Requirements (All Positions)
Age:
Minimum 18 years old
Education:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in any field required
Experience:
Working with children ages 3-5, preferably in licensed childcare setting
Certifications:
Adult, Child, and Infant CPR within 6 months; basic first aid knowledge
Professional Competencies:
Excellent communication skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, flexibility for varying schedules
Additional:
Experience with low-income, multicultural families preferred Preschool Teacher Aide II Requirements Preschool Credential OR Child Development Associate Credential OR Associate's or Bachelor's degree in any field plus completion of Intro to Child Care Profession (or equivalent ECE course) Teacher Aide III Requirements Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education OR Related Associate's or Bachelor's degree with practicum and assessments providing unique enrichment (music, art, intervention therapy) with minimum 18 ECE credits
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Preschool Teacher Aide, you'll partner with the Classroom Teacher to: Develop and implement activities that promote children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development Support programming for children ages 3-5 in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards Ensure compliance with Wisconsin Child Care Licensing, City of Madison Accreditation, and Wisconsin YoungStar standards Build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community members Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment Support multicultural and diverse learning experiences Assist with daily classroom routines and specialized programming Work collaboratively under the direction of the Classroom Teacher
