This position will provide technical, clerical and academic support to teachers, staff, and students (at the Waukesha campus) in the Adult Basic Education and English Language Learner programs. The role supports student success by assisting learners in meeting their educational goals. These duties and responsibilities involve varying degrees of complexity and confidentiality. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related responsibilities and tasks other than those stated on this description. Serve as a point of contact for students and assist students in accessing, using, navigating and understanding a variety of computer software and applications related to education needs, finding educational resources, completing academic assignments, and academic testing. Provide support to teachers and other staff members as it relates to students. Install, update, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, software and printers. Register students, run reports, and enter test scores using College information system. Maintain student files. Assist students with finding other resources around campus or in the community to support their retention and transition to post-secondary education. Participate in committees, on teams or sub-teams and/or meetings that include technology and/or administrative support. Provide reception support i.e. answer and screen telephone calls, greet and interact with staff, students, community members, and public school counselors; respond to general inquiries and requests, as needed. Maintain current professional and technical knowledge in the field through professional education and activities. Learn new software and teach others how to use it, as appropriate. Participate in and contribute to assignments and special projects of a similar nature and level. Minimum QualificationsREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Advanced knowledge of Internet, web technologies, electronic mail, office applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, publishing, database software, current operating systems software and computer hardware Familiarity with Adult Basic Education Experience working with English Language Learners Effective interpersonal communication skills in speaking, writing and listening Attention to detail, completing and maintaining a high level of accuracy Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on computer equipment and peripheral devices Ability to manage time, organize and prioritize work. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work on several projects at a time Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to work processes Ability to work independently, as part of a team and/or with minimal supervisionEDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Associate degree in computer technology, computer support or equivalent or in education. Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and socioeconomic groups. Experience working with adults. Experience in a variety of equipment set-up and maintenance; installing, and updating computer software applications, and experience working with computers/troubleshooting computer issues. Supplemental Information The part-time Educational Assistant (Casual) supports the College and Career Readiness department and is available immediately.Position details:
This is a part-time, casual, up to 14/hours per week position, not eligible for benefits..Hours:
