Position Summary:

This position reports to The YES Program Coordinator and is responsible for monitoring/chaperoning YES Program Youth Participants and assisting the YES Program Coordinator with program facilitation.

Essential Functions:

Monitoring YES Students for compliance with the Code of Conduct and ensuring they are on task, safe, and participating to their fullest potential. Assisting guest presenters with classroom management during Education Days. Assisting the YES Program Coordinator with addressing Family, Youth, Guest Presenter, and Job Placement Site Supervisor needs, etc.

YES Program Assistant Job Duties:

Daily set-up and clean-up for program functions. Supervise YES Program Youth and monitor for adherence to the Code of Conduct. Keep youth on task and motivated during program functions. Travel to assist other youth Job Placement Sites as needed. Provide transportation for Youth to Job Placement Sites, Field Trips, etc. when needed. Any other duties assigned by supervisor

Interacts with YES Participants, Parents/Guardians, Education Staff, Job Placement Site Supervisors, Guest Presenters, etc.

Physical Demands/Environment Factors:

Walking, standing for prolonged periods. Interacting with students, families, Job Placement Site Staff, and Guest Presenters with professionalism. Working outdoors Some travel (using Tribal Vehicles)

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma Required - A valid driver's license and insurable. Must pass a UA test and criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with youth/teens or in educational setting is preferred (Summer camps, youth organizations, community serving organizations, schools, etc.) Native American Preference Given in Accordance with P.L. 93-638 and Amendments The offer is conditional based on confirmation that the candidate meets all specific criteria required (background check, driver's insurability verification, references, identity verification, and other applicable requirements).
