Middle School Tutor

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise elementary/middle school students in tutorial programs, study hall, and tribal learning centers.
• Monitor and assist elementary/middle school students and provide support, guidance, and direction for academic retention.
• Contact teachers for student's past due assignments, homework, and assist with proper study techniques.
• Assist teachers with planning curriculum including summer curriculum.
• Assist teacher with supervision and monitoring of students in classroom and on field trips.
• Assist teacher with classroom projects, daily activities, and coordination of special events.
• Compile and study educational information to aid students in completing educational objectives.
• Engage in research and follow-up to evaluate tutoring techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be able to work with little supervision.
• Must be able to pass a DPS/FBI fingerprint background investigation.
• Must have good communication skills, i.e. oral, writing, speaking
• Must have computer experience with Microsoft Office or similar programs
• Must be aware of the community and its resources, i.e. family structure, tribal programs, and education resources.
• Must have an Arizona valid Driver's license
• Must be first aid/CPR certified.
• Must be

vaccinated or must obtain prior to the completion of the first 120-day training period.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Associates degree in related field or trade school, professional or technical certification, specialized training
• 6-months specialized work experience, 2-years work experience in related field or 2-years general or supervisory work experience
