Benefits 401K / Retirement Plan, Dental Insurance, Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Holidays, Paid Vacation, Vision Insurance Job Description SUMMARY Under the direct supervision of the Education Coordinator, the tutor is responsible for tutoring/assisting and scheduling middle school students during the normal school year, as well as performing classroom aide duties during the summer program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise elementary/middle school students in tutorial programs, study hall, and tribal learning centers.
- Monitor and assist elementary/middle school students and provide support, guidance, and direction for academic retention.
- Contact teachers for student's past due assignments, homework, and assist with proper study techniques.
- Assist teachers with planning curriculum including summer curriculum.
- Assist teacher with supervision and monitoring of students in classroom and on field trips.
- Assist teacher with classroom projects, daily activities, and coordination of special events.
- Compile and study educational information to aid students in completing educational objectives.
- Engage in research and follow-up to evaluate tutoring techniques.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to work with little supervision.
- Must be able to pass a DPS/FBI fingerprint background investigation.
- Must have good communication skills, i.e. oral, writing, speaking
- Must have computer experience with Microsoft Office or similar programs
- Must be aware of the community and its resources, i.e. family structure, tribal programs, and education resources.
- Must have an Arizona valid Driver's license
- Must be first aid/CPR certified.
- Must be
COVID-19
vaccinated or must obtain prior to the completion of the first 120-day training period.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Associates degree in related field or trade school, professional or technical certification, specialized training
- 6-months specialized work experience, 2-years work experience in related field or 2-years general or supervisory work experience
