Job Description:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and engaging High School English Tutor to support students in literature, writing, and language arts. The ideal candidate will be able to explain complex concepts clearly, help students strengthen their writing skills, and guide them through analytical reading and literary discussions. This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities:

Tutor high school students in reading comprehension, essay writing, literary analysis, and English coursework. Create personalized lesson plans tailored to each student's needs. Assist with homework, essay revision, and writing assignments. Teach strategies for analyzing texts, improving grammar, organizing essays, and building strong arguments. Track student progress and communicate effectively with students and parents.

Qualifications:

Strong proficiency in high school English curriculum (literature, composition, grammar, and critical reading). At least 3 years experience of tutoring or teaching experience with middle or high school students preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Bachelor's degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field preferred. Ability to make lessons engaging and tailored to different learning styles.

Compensation & Schedule:

Competitive hourly rate based on experience. Flexible scheduling for part-time tutoring. In-person sessions at CL Academy Brea.
