Our tutors provide personalized, one-on-one instruction tailored to each student's academic needs, learning style, and goals. This is an ideal opportunity for certified teachers, subject-matter experts, graduate students, or experienced educators who are passionate about helping students build confidence and achieve measurable academic growth. About Prep Academy Tutors Prep Academy Tutors is a premium in-home tutoring company that delivers individualized academic support aligned with school curricula. We specialize in high-quality, customized tutoring services that help students strengthen foundational skills, master advanced content, and prepare for standardized exams. Our Northern Los Angeles division is committed to supporting families with exceptional, relationship-focused educational services. Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one academic tutoring in core subjects (Math, English Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and/or Foreign Languages) Support students with homework, study skills, executive functioning, and test preparation Develop individualized learning plans based on student needs and assessment results Track student progress and provide regular updates to families Foster a positive, encouraging, and professional learning environment Travel to students' homes throughout the Northern Los Angeles, California area Qualifications Master's degree or teaching certification Strong subject-matter expertise in at least one core academic area Prior teaching or tutoring experience (classroom, private tutoring, or small-group instruction) Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners Excellent communication and organizational skills Reliable transportation Authorized to work in the United States What We Offer Competitive hourly compensation Flexible scheduling Ongoing professional support Meaningful, long-term relationships with students and families Schedule & Availability Tutors create schedules based on their availability and student demand. Work Location Northern Los Angeles, California Requirements A qualified applicant will have a bachelor's degree and will also meet at least one of the following criteria: You hold a valid California teaching certificate or the equivalent thereof You are a current student teacher pursuing a teaching certificate You have 2 or more years of experience as a classroom teacher in a private, public, or charter school You have experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited U.S. university or college You are a Master's/PhD student with experience as a teaching assistant at an accredited U.S. university or college
