Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum for Advanced Placement (AP) CS courses. Design engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that align with College Board standards and objectives for
AP CS P & A.
Teach students fundamental CS concepts, theories, principles, and models, using a variety of instructional strategies and resources. Foster critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and data analysis techniques in students through real-world applications and case studies. Prepare students for the AP CS exam, including providing test-taking strategies, practice tests, and review sessions. Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative assessments, such as quizzes, exams, projects, and class discussions. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their academic performance, progress, and areas for improvement. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, assignments, and assessments, and communicate regularly with students and parents regarding academic expectations and achievements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in CS, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Teaching credential or certification preferred. Demonstrated expertise in CS, with a strong understanding of AP CS concepts and theories. Previous teaching experience, especially in teaching AP CS or high school CS courses, preferred. Familiarity with College Board AP CS curriculum, exam format, and scoring criteria. Passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering student learning, engagement, and success in CS Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex CS concepts in a clear and accessible manner. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and accommodate various learning styles. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage classroom activities, assessments, and records effectively.
