This role involves providing personalized, in-depth instruction in AP Calculus (both AB and BC) and Statistics, fostering a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and confidence. The tutor will work directly with students of varying skill levels, including high school and early college learners, to develop their understanding of complex concepts, prepare for exams, and strengthen their overall math skills. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' academic journeys while utilizing your expertise in mathematics and teaching. Responsibilities Deliver engaging, in-person tutoring sessions focused on AP Calculus AB & BC topics, including limits, derivatives, integrals, series, and differential equations. Provide comprehensive instruction in Statistics concepts such as probability, data analysis, hypothesis testing, and regression analysis. Develop customized lesson plans tailored to each student's needs, learning style, and academic goals. Assist students with test preparation strategies for AP exams and other assessments to maximize their performance. Utilize effective classroom management techniques to create a supportive environment that promotes active participation and confidence. Incorporate learning technology tools to enhance understanding of complex mathematical ideas and data analysis techniques. Track student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and adjusting instruction accordingly to ensure continuous improvement. Qualifications Proven experience teaching or tutoring AP Calculus AB & BC and Statistics at the high school or college level. Strong knowledge of calculus topics including limits, derivatives, integrals, series, and differential equations. Solid understanding of Statistics principles such as probability distributions, hypothesis testing, data interpretation, and regression models. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with teenagers and young adults in an educational setting. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently. Experience integrating learning technology into instruction for enhanced engagement and comprehension. Familiarity with test preparation techniques for AP exams or similar assessments. Strong organizational skills for lesson planning, progress tracking, and managing multiple students simultaneously. Computer literacy with educational software or online instruction tools is preferred but not required.
