Job Description
We are seeking a knowledgeable, engaging, and result-oriented in-person SAT Reading & Writing Tutor to help high school students excel in the digital SAT. The ideal candidate possesses deep subject-matter expertise in English language arts, test-taking strategies, and passage analysis, with a passion for helping students achieve measurable score gains.
Key Responsibilities Targeted Verbal Instruction:
Deliver personalized, high-impact one-on-one and small-group instruction focused exclusively on SAT Reading and Writing (grammar, syntax, passage analysis, vocabulary-in-context, and rhetorical skills).Strategy & Pacing:
Teach proven SAT-specific Reading & Writing strategies, time-management techniques, and methods for dissecting complex texts and questions.Diagnostic Assessment:
Evaluate individual student strengths and skill gaps to design tailored study plans and targeted practice.Progress Tracking & Communication:
Assign and review practice modules, monitor performance trends, and provide constructive feedback to both students and parents.Curriculum Alignment:
Stay up to date with the latest Digital SAT format, scoring rules, and College Board EBRW question standards. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in English, Literature, Education, Communications, or a related field required (Master's degree preferred). Demonstrated experience tutoring or teaching high school Reading, English, or SAT Verbal preparation. Strong command of English grammar, mechanics, reading comprehension strategies, and test structure. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to motivate and build rapport with teenagers. Highly reliable, punctual, organized, and professional. Preferred Qualifications Top-tier personal SAT Reading & Writing scores or a proven track record of helping students achieve significant score increases in the Reading & Writing section. Familiarity with the official Digital SAT software (Bluebook) and updated Reading & Writing section formats.Job Details Job Types:
