Essential Elements:
Print Tutor small groups in specific subject matter areas using homework/lesson discussion groups, Socratic questioning, writing to learn, the writing process, and cooperative learning techniques. Grade student binders. Serve as positive role models, valuing education and its benefits. Participate in meetings and in-service training programs as assigned Requirements / Qualifications The Baldwin Park Unified School District is recruiting for a Tutors. Please see the work locations and times below. Under the direction of the principal, teacher, or AVID coordinator, conduct homework discussion groups; tutor individual and small groups of students and/or grade AVID students' notebooks. Minimum Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school graduate who is a college student (full-time preferred) OR currently employed by the district as an instructional aide.
  • Must be able to provide tutoring in Math, Science, and English.
  • High school graduation or equivalent.
Selection Process:
The selection process tentatively consists of the District application review, and interviews. The Human Resources Department will contact all applicants once the selection process has been finalized.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Possession of a valid and appropriate work permit (if applicable) and Tuberculosis skin test clearance.
