Full Job Description Responsibilities:

• Tutor students with special needs using specialized strategies in the areas of reading, spelling, math, and homework help.
• Follow lesson plans
• Implement behavioral and motivational strategies

Experience:

• Must be proficient with the English language with strong reading and writing skills
• Prefer strong math skills, at minimum through Algebra 1 level
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
• Must have a strong, nurturing sensibility for working with a diverse range of students
• Preferred experience working with individuals with special needs

Education:

• High school diploma required, and must be enrolled in a Bachelor's program
• Preferred BA or higher degree in an education related field
• Note, this is a part time position, ideal for individuals looking for 2-10 hours weekly.

During the traditional school year, work hours tend to be during after-school hours from 3-6pm. During the summer, work hours tend to shift to mornings. Starting pay is noted, though there is potential for negotiation based on experience. Additionally, there is potential for additional hours and significant pay increases based on skill development and work ethic.
