Under direct supervision the Tutor is responsible for providing educational tutoring assistance to Native American students. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Works with groups of Native American/Alaska Native (NA/AN) K-12th grade students with common educational needs.
- Works with an individual NA/AN K-12th grade student with a prescribed educational plan(s) as needed.
- Maintains accurate attendance and academic records.
- Meets with appropriate individuals (i.e., teachers, parents, and other education staff) in the formulation of education plans for individual NA/AN K-12th grade students.
- Provides leadership and supervision of NA/AN K-12th grade children during recreational cultural and enrichment activities.
- Transports NA/AN K-12th grade children in Tribal vehicles for special field trips.
- Informs NA/AN K-12th grade students and parents of individual student progress.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements Minimum Qualifications:
TUTOR I- High School Diploma or GED plus one year experience working with students.
- Must be able to assist in Elementary, Middle, and High School Math and Science.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation.
- Preference will be given to Qualified Native American Indians.
