Position Summary:
Under direct supervision the Tutor is responsible for providing educational tutoring assistance to Native American students. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Works with groups of Native American/Alaska Native (NA/AN) K-12th grade students with common educational needs.
  • Works with an individual NA/AN K-12th grade student with a prescribed educational plan(s) as needed.
  • Maintains accurate attendance and academic records.
  • Meets with appropriate individuals (i.e., teachers, parents, and other education staff) in the formulation of education plans for individual NA/AN K-12th grade students.
  • Provides leadership and supervision of NA/AN K-12th grade children during recreational cultural and enrichment activities.
  • Transports NA/AN K-12th grade children in Tribal vehicles for special field trips.
  • Informs NA/AN K-12th grade students and parents of individual student progress.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Requirements Minimum Qualifications:
TUTOR I
  • High School Diploma or GED plus one year experience working with students.
  • Must be able to assist in Elementary, Middle, and High School Math and Science.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation.
  • Preference will be given to Qualified Native American Indians.
