Reading & Writing Tutor at Sylvan Learning of Mountain View

We are currently looking for part-time Sylvan Instructor who is passionate about teaching. You will be trained on the Sylvan curriculum and given the tools to teach in a small group, 3:1, 2:1 or 1:1 setting. You will provide personalized instruction in subjects such as reading, writing. Reading program will focus on reading comprehension and vocabulary study. Writing program focuses on essay writing and mechanics/grammar skills. • 12 hours teaching weekly. 2. Be able to teach ONSITE at Sylvan Mountain View. As a successful teacher you will:
• Teach using Sylvan based programs
• Supervise, interact with and motivate students during instruction hour while they work with equipment and materials
• Reward students for completed assignments
• Evaluate and document student progress
• Communicate student needs to the center director
• Inspire Students
• Develop rapport with students and establish a fun learning environment
• Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and

Sylvan Requirements:

• 2 years teaching or tutoring experience preferred
• Strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task
• Need to work in person at Mountain View, California.
